Africa in Revival


Benin

A Trinitarian pastor attended our most recent week-long ministerial training program. During the teaching he received the revelation of baptism in Jesus' name. He along with 200 members in his local church were baptized in Jesus' name.

Botswana

A wonderful General Conference resulted in ten receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit and seven baptized in Jesus' name. There were also life changing teachings on family life during the conference.

Burkina Faso

Three new churches have opened up, and many are receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

With the help of AIMers, the children's ministry has gone to the next level. Seven children have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This is very encouraging for the churches since children had not previously received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

A great witness in the communities and villages has been the distribution of over 2000lbs of grain to help sustain families during the recent famine.

At a pastor installation service and dedication of a temporary building donated for use as a church, nine were baptized in Jesus' name with 122 in attendance. Other attending pastors made appointment with our pastor concerning affiliation.

Ghana

Some reports from Bible school students who evangelized during school break:
  •     One held a three day crusade, and five were baptized in Jesus' name.
  •     A new preaching point was established with five people already in attendance.
  •     One held a crusade which resulted in a Trinitarian pastor and two of his elders being baptized in Jesus' name and three more branch pastors wanting to be baptized in Jesus' name.
One Bible school student was baptized in Jesus' name at an extension school of ACTS-Ghana.

Kenya

In two months a total of 118 were baptized in Jesus' name, ninety-seven received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, 198 reported healing, and 241 Home Bible studies were taught. There were also sixty backsliders who came back to church.

Two new preaching points were established.

Liberia

During regular services throughout the country, a total of 131 were baptized in Jesus' name and 198 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Madagscar

One of the districts in the capital city had a special evangelism conference where seventy-seven received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Malawi

During three district ladies conferences, a total of 273 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and seventeen were baptized in Jesus' name. One lady had been in her local church eight years and never received the Holy Spirit until these special meetings.

There were six baptized as a result of special services with visitors.

A total of 38 pastors attended a special minister's service. There was a great spirit in this meeting.

During the southern region Youth Conference, a total of fifty-eight received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and fifty-one were baptized in Jesus' name. There were over 350 youth in attendance.

During the General Conference, seventy-nine received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and many were baptized in Jesus' name.

Mali

A Bible school student who is attending school in Burkina Faso will be returning to continue his education and bringing a friend who wants to attend school as well. This makes two students from this nation being trained in God's Word. We praise the Lord for opening these doors.

Mauritius

During Conference a total of fourteen received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and two were baptized in Jesus' name. More are to be baptized in the next few weeks.

Mozambique

The pastors and committees are receiving twenty-four hours a month in training. A mature church is the wonderful result.

Niger

Great things are happening during evangelization of the children who are poor and/or with AIDS. Special times of visitation are being held to reach into this vast harvest field of over 7,455,000.

Nigeria

One of the Bible school graduates is filling in as an interim pastor at a local church. Seven long standing members of the church have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Two new Bible school students were baptized in Jesus' name.

One of the most expensive properties was in jeopardy of being repossessed by the tribal council. When it appeared the property was lost, an agreement was reached to satisfy all involved. The property is now securely in the hands of the United Pentecostal Church International.

Tanzania

At a seminar in a fairly undeveloped region, twelve received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and one was healed. There were twenty-five in attendance.

A three day regional conference had 185 in attendance with many being first time visitors. Two of the subjects taught were "the Godhead in Christ" and "baptism in Jesus' name". A total of fifty-seven were baptized in Jesus' name and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Two new preaching points were also established from this conference.

A total of thirty-two attended a ladies conference at one church where seven received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and were baptized in Jesus' name.

An evangelism seminar for the six western regions was a success. Attendees left with greater understanding and desire to evangelize their regions. Seven received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

A regional youth conference had 108 in attendance, and eighteen received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

One regional conference had sixty-eight present for seminar sessions. Two were baptized in Jesus' name, and ten received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

One local church, where famine has been an issue, baptized three in Jesus' name.

Another local church baptized a total of twenty-one in Jesus' name within two Sundays.

One region reports that 128 received the baptism of the Holy Spirit and eight were healed.

At E. L. Freeman Bible Institute schools, twenty-two completed the GATS certificate level.

A UPC Tanzania evangelist was invited to hold a seminar for several pastors and their church leaders in an area where there currently is no UPC. He taught several lessons covering the Apostolic message of salvation. They are interested in joining the UPC with their congregations.

In one month a total of 6,114 Pass the Word Bible studies were taught throughout four regions.

Zambia

There was a mighty move of God during the General Conference. A total of forty-five received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and twenty were baptized in Jesus' name.

Graduation at Word Aflame Bible College yielded nine graduates commissioned to go out into the harvest field.
