Special Prayer Requests

BURKINA FASO
During the month of April, there will be Prayer Seminars taught in local churches by Sis. Cantrell. She will be teaching the "Prayer Journey," showing the different types of prayers that we pray. We have civil unrest in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Pray for peace here. We are working with several Trinitarian pastors who are being taught the "Oneness" message. Please pray for their understanding of the scriptures.

CENTRAL AFRICAN REPUBLIC
Please pray for a Holy Ghost outpouring in the CAR. Also, pray that the construction work on the church in Bombari will be completed before the rainy season begins.

MOZAMBIQUE
Cezar Moraes, Regional Missionary to Mozambique writes: "I received an interesting prayer request from Maputo! Pastor Vilankulos, recently baptized along with his wife in Jesus Name: We are learning about the Oneness of God and I feel that the congregation is almost ready for the baptism in Jesus Name. We are preparing the church for the baptism in Jesus Name and how to receive the Holy Ghost. We are planning to start to build the new facilities of the church in Maputo by June this year. Because of the truth we are now preaching, the devil is attacking the families of the church. We also need your prayer to defeat the devil and for the growth of the Church of the Name in Maputo. We believe for a strong church in Maputo and that a revival will sweep over all the country of Mozambique!"

NAMIBIA
Pray for our church members in the northern part of Namibia, they are facing bad flood situation. Pray for the National leadership of Namibia to be empowered to reach the nation with the gospel of the truth. Pray for that at our general conference (7-10 of April) that there will be a great out-pouring of the Holy Ghost and deeper revelation of the truth.

NIGERIA
National, State, & Local elections will take place on April 2, 9, and 16. Please pray for a peaceful election season. This is a very critical time in Nigeria. All meetings have been cancelled or postponed until the end of the election season.

SWAZILAND
We ask prayer for the Easter Conference. We are expecting a record attendance.

Growing UP in Prayer!

"For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things" (Zechariah 8:12).

The Lord desires us to see divine growth and the fruit of our labors as a result of prayer! I Corinthians15:58 states, "Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord." Furthermore, I Corinthians 3:6, 9 relays, "I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase...For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry...." Does prayer effect plant seeds? In a study on germinating seeds done by Dr. Franklin Loehr, a minister and scientist, the objective was to see in a controlled experiment what effect prayer had over living and seemingly non-living matter. In one experiment three pans of various types of seeds were observed. One was the control pan. One pan received positive prayer, and the other, the opposite (no prayer & subjected to negative verbiage). Time after time, the results indicated that prayer helped speed germination and produced more vigorous plants. The pan without such prayer halted germination in some plants and suppressed growth in others. Amazing! If this outcome resulted in such a natural application and affected the growth process, then how much more can we glean from this reality in a spiritual context? Our prayers are powerful and can make a difference between life and death, sickness and health, prosperity or poverty...and the list goes on! God desires that we grow up in prayer and pray in faith, and to do so is to know that He is listening to you and that if what you are asking for is in His will, it will come to pass. To grow up in prayer is to approach God with a respectful confidence and to believe that prayer is effective and will bring the desired change according to His purpose.

NOTE: Sister Flo Shaw has been appointed as the new international coordinator of the World Network of Prayer. Originally from Louisiana, she was mentored by T. W. Barnes and James Kilgore. She is a licensed minister of the United Pentecostal Church International and serves alongside her husband, Dwayne Shaw, who is pastor of New Life Temple in Austin, Texas. Sister Shaw is currently the WNOP coordinator for the South Texas District and has done an outstanding job in that capacity, most recently in organizing the prayer for the General Conference in Houston.

The Africa Network of Prayer welcomes Sis. Flow Shaw as the International Coordinator of the World Network of Prayer and looks forward to working with her to promote prayer around the globe.
