Luxembourg Missions Update

Greetings from Luxembourg in the Name of Jesus!

In 2 Kings 6:15-17 the Bible gives an example of spiritual vision revealing reality. Early one morning Elisha’s servant saw their city being surrounded by an army of horses and chariots. What he saw meant their enemy had them surrounded. Elisha prayed that the young man would be able to “see.” When the Lord opened his eyes what he saw was very different than at first. He saw the mountain “full of horses and chariots of fire.”

Before his eyes were opened he could only see the enemy had them surrounded. After his eyes were opened to reality, he could see that what was surrounding them was surrounded. This is why Elisha said, “Fear not, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” I pray the Lord gives His people vision to see the unseen!

Lux Connections

This month one of our outreach activities included a pizza picnic in the park.

We shared a lot of drinks and pizza with people in the park, handed out Bible study invitations and church information, played games and got to know a few more people.

During this afternoon we met and connected with a new family from Scotland that recently moved to Luxembourg.

We are looking forward to what God is going to do in this family!

About 12 years ago a tall young man visited our church in Texas where I was youth pastor at the time. His family was traveling the country ministering as they traveled from state to state. We sort-of adopted the young traveler into our youth group and he also became a good friend who we would keep up with for years to come. His name is Paul Grohman (topleft). He is now 25 years old and a recent graduate of Texas Bible College. He contacted me sharing an amazing story of his calling to Luxembourg. Since being here he has been my prayer partner joining me in intercession for this nation, helped develop Bible study curriculum, assisted with outreach and evangelism, taken care of our daughter, Kinsey, begun teaching weekly music lessons and is a tremendous blessing to us. Your investment in people is never wasted.

Claire (pictured above) is a young Filipino lady who has recently joined our Bible study group!

Many Blessings!

Berlin/Northern Germany: Missionary Sledge Ministry Update

Because a prayer meeting happened, the Holy Spirit fell on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2), a lame man was healed at the Temple gate (ch. 3), the early church received holy boldness to withstand persecution and speak the Word of God (ch. 4), Peter was released from prison by an angel (ch. 12), the door opened for the apostles to minister in Europe (beginning in Philippi), and all the chains of prisoners were broken (ch. 17). What do you need? We recommend a prayer meeting!

What has prayer done just in the last month? We are happy to tell you!

At the youth camp for the German-speaking region, eleven children and seven youth received the Holy Spirit, and five were baptized in Jesus' name. This is the first time we have had the ability and location to baptize at the summer camp, and we thank God for this opportunity.

In New Jersey, at Prospect Park (Pastor Sarmiento), the church broke into a dimension of spiritual power when three children responded to the Lord--"a little child shall lead them." After we left, Pastor Ramsey sent more news: a lady with blindness in one eye could see shadows, and a lady who hadn't been able to eat without sickness ate a full lunch without nausea. In Tinton Falls (Pastor McFarland), this first-time visitor received the Holy Ghost. (We loved the "slumber party" with the McFarland family, too.)

We greatly enjoyed our time in the New York Metro area. We appreciate Pastor Jimenez (Hollis/Queens), Pastor Doug DAvis (Old Westbury), Pastor Andrade (Queens/Elmhurst), Pastor Powell (Yonkers and Bronx), and Pastor Willis (Valhalla) for opening their churches. Special thanks to Pastor Davis and Bethel UPC for providing a lovely place to stay during our time in NYC. The young man pictured here with a walker was in service in Elmhurst. He had broken three vertebra in a car accident but came with faith to the altar. According to his testimony afterward, when prayer went forth, he felt a sensation like water flowing from his head to his feet. A feeling like fire followed, and as it moved through him, the pain left his body. He let go of the walker, began to jump and praise the Lord, and carried his walker home.

Connecticut treated us well also. We were hosted by Pastor F. Dibble (Wallingford), Pastor Elliott (Manchester), and Pastor Harvey (Bloomfield) and held services in Waterbury (Pastor T. Dibble), Enfield (Pastor Readout), Windsor Locks (Pastor Williams)-at a fabulous church build in the late 1800s-and Bristol (Pastor McDonald). Bristol provided a magnificent ending for an already good week. That evening this lady, who had been given a Bible study twelve years previously and had been attending church only a few weeks, found deliverance from spiritual darkness and was filled with the Spirit of God. (Do not give up hope on those for whom you are reaching!) In addition, Pastor McDonald's granddaughter received the Holy Spirit, and a lady who had been away from church for several years rededicated her life to the Lord and was renewed in the Lord, her past erased. This is just what Jesus loves to do!

A trip through Massachusetts and Rhode Island allowed us to fellowship with and be blessed by the churches in Haverhill, MA (Pastor Chesson), New Bedford, MA (Pastor Caron), and Tiverton, RI (Pastro Stirnemann). In New Bedford, this young lady had been weighing the direction of her life, but she made the decision to walk with Jesus wholeheartedly!

What a privilege we had to attend the New England Territory Summons (NETS) Prayer Conference! The sessions were powerful, anointed, and prophetic. We linked the German-speaking nations with the Worldwide Network of Prayer more tightly, and we anticipate great things for New England and the GSN because of these days.

We are traveling in New Brunswick, Canada, and have been honored to minister at Wilson's Beach (Pastor Harris), McAdam (Pastor Tompkins), and McNamee (Pastor Cromwell). We thank Capital Community Church in Fredericton for giving access to the gorgeous Stairs House along this journey. (On our way, we made a stop at this sign since Sis. Sledge's maternal grandfather, a prayer warrior, was born in East Machias, ME.)

Time spent in prayer is never wasted but is the best investment we can make! WE pray for all of you and value your prayers for us.

To glorify Jesus,
Carl & Bethany Sledge
